Improving Analysis - Advancing Fair, Just, and Effective Policing

Kaitlin DePartee is a seasoned expert in criminal justice research and crime analysis, currently serving as a Research Analyst in CNA’s Center for Justice Research and Innovation. In her role, she manages the Bureau of Justice Assistance Crime Analyst in Residence Training and Technical Assistance Program, where she oversees the development and delivery of training resources for criminal justice professionals. Additionally, Mrs. DePartee contributes her expertise to various research and technical assistance projects, collaborating closely with criminal justice agencies to enhance data-driven decision-making processes. Her work is centered on helping agencies navigate and interpret complex data, improve operational effectiveness, and develop policies based on evidence.
Before joining CNA, Mrs. DePartee worked as a crime and research analyst at The Finn Institute for Public Safety in Albany, NY. She has also gained substantial experience as an embedded crime analyst within police departments and fusion centers across New York State. Her prior research includes evaluations of drug courts and bail reform analysis, where she worked to assess and improve practices in the criminal justice system.
Mrs. DePartee holds an M.A. in Criminal Justice and a graduate certificate in Homeland Security, both from the University at Albany, SUNY, as well as a B.A. in Criminal Justice from The University of Scranton.
